About

Welcome!

As an applied medical anthropologist in international public health, my interests and experiences span infectious disease (focus on HIV & TB); chronic disease (primarily obesity); policy development; and political-ecologic and social determinants of health.

Punyu is one of many Australian Aboriginal words for the concept of well-being. Well-being not just of physical health, but of emotional, social, and environmental health.  The goal is for this blog to highlight the many facets of our global health.
